Thank you, Taylor Swift, for saving my summer in quarantine.
Many people have mentioned that “not having anything to look forward to” has been the hardest part of dealing with Coronavirus. I understand this, as my entire summer calendar was filled with concerts that have either been cancelled or postponed. Summer is about music: festivals, concerts, and world tours. Just as I had accepted that summer would just have to run out, Taylor Swift released a surprise album — “Folklore” — and it’s perfect.
Storytelling songs are the best type of songs, because you hear bits of your own life in them. I really love Taylor’s first single of her new album “Cardigan”, which dropped at midnight. The song is so good that it inspired me to write a post about my favorite summer transitional apparel: the open sweater!

Cardigans are casual jackets. They finish an outfit more than a pullover sweater, in my opinion. I pair them with shorts, wear them over graphic tee-shirts, and of course, as a partner to jeans. I love pulling cardigans over little dresses that are too chilly for fall, but not quite out of season, either. Cardigans are a versatile closet staple, and I seem to have about ten navy versions that help move summer into fall.
Here are some of my favorites from your favorite stores and brands:
If you haven’t downloaded Taylor’s new indie album, do so today. It’s music to shop to! You can even buy Taylor Swift’s signature cardigan sweater through her website!
