It’s hard to make a long-term commitment these days! No one is sure if events will go on as planned, or if there’s a chance that life could be shut down again. We hesitate to shop too much, because we’re not sure if we’re going to need “going out” clothes. Brands are aware of how consumers are thinking right now, and they’re making it easy on all of us to shop without the worry of wasting money.
Since I’ve been wearing a mask, I’ve backed off of my regular makeup routine, because the only parts seen are my eyes and eyebrows, which I leave natural anyway. My makeup sometimes rubs off on the inside of my mask, and when it gets hot, the steam breaks down powder and foundation. But, I still want to look finished when I am able to remove my mask, and that’s where Tarte Cosmetics comes in.
If you visit the Tarte website, find the makeup link and scroll down to “Minis”. These tiny, almost sample sizes, are perfect for travel, but they’re also perfect for experimenting with new colors and products. I don’t want to waste expensive, quality products by letting them expire on my makeup table, so I’ve been buying smaller amounts given that I’m not wearing as much of anything these days.
Minis are fun and functional. They fit into your pocket or mini handbag, and they still contain enough of the product to get a decent amount of use out of them. I also love that many of Tarte’s mini products are under $10. A little bit of money on a little bit of makeup makes a big difference!
One of my other makeup tricks is to buy sample foundation, such as this $2.00 Matchmaker Card by Tarte, to have a range of colors available as my summer tan fades. This way, I can gradually work my way back down to my winter foundation shade without having to buy full-sized products so often. It’s a money saver and it prevents waste!
