I’ve written often about my struggle with problematic skin. If you’re new to my blog, I’ll fill you in: A few years ago, I developed cystic acne that was most likely due to stress (likely due to school!). Once we got the condition under control, I then switched from a skincare pursuit to a search for foundations and coverups to hide stubborn scars.
A long (and expensive story) short, I have tried nearly every product sold in drug stores, high-end stores, and specialty stores. When I was ready to give up, I received an email from the publicists at Tarte Cosmetics in New York City, asking me to try their foundation as a member of the QVC affiliate marketing team. I submitted a “before” picture to a complexion matchmaker and waited for my exciting new products to arrive!
Within a couple of days, a bright purple package arrived. It was stuffed with a full-sized Babassu Foundcealer Skincare Foundation, AND a full-sized tube of Maneater mascara. My foundation shade – Light Sand 22S (light skin with yellow undertones) – was a perfect match! This multi-tasking foundation owns up to its name, because the bluish marks left behind from painful breakouts were completely hidden!
I don’t wear a lot of makeup in the summer (or the winter, really), so I buy products that enhance a natural look. I applied the black Maneater mascara to wake up my eyes, a clear coat of eyebrow wax, and a quick swipe of neutral lip balm to finish my look. I am so pleased, and I know you will be as well.
Tarte products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, gluten, and a number of other chemicals that I can’t even pronounce! All you need to say is, “Add to bag!”
