There is a window of springtime that looks warmer than it is outside. Those are the days when it is too cold for sandals, but too late in the season for boots or heavy shoes. This is the time when I enjoy wearing colorful sneakers, or in the case of J. Crew’s newest line: The tennis shoe.
Lux sneakers, or luxury tennis shoes, are trending in all of the major stores and footwear boutiques. Lines like Golden Goose, Veja, Soludos, Gola, and Chloe are producing a rainbow of colors, trims, and prints. I work in a shoe store part-time, usually on weekends, and the best part of the job is playing with all of the new arrivals!
I love a good pair of classic Tretorns, but I have been experimenting lately. I am excited to wear a ruffle trim sneaker by See by Chloe and a platform sneaker by Loeffler Randall in pastel detail that reminds me of Easter. I have matched the Kiera style by Loeffler Randall with the new tennis-inspired sweatshirts by J. Crew. Pairing a casual outfit with a statement sneaker is a perfect… match!
